A complete electric fence system RFQ should describe every required component, its quantity and its supplier responsibility. “Complete kit” is not a precise specification. Importers need to know whether the offer includes only the energizer or also the power equipment, fencing components and documentation.
A bill of materials, or BOM, makes the scope reviewable. It is especially useful when sourcing components from more than one supplier or consolidating them for delivery.
Start with the installation scope
Describe the application and provide the layout or project brief that the system must support. Identify the party responsible for design and compatibility approval. A purchasing coordinator can organize quotations, but a complete list of parts is not automatically a validated system.
Keep the scope separate from branding. First define the equipment package; then add the labels, manuals and packaging requirements for your market.
Use a responsibility matrix
For each component, record a specification, quantity, proposed source, inclusion status and approval owner. Your working list may include:
- Energizer and its required power equipment.
- Solar components or batteries where specified.
- Conductors, connection hardware and lead-out cable.
- Posts, insulators and gate components.
- Grounding components and test equipment.
- Manuals, warning information and packaging.
Mark uncertain items “to be confirmed.” This is more useful than leaving blank cells that different suppliers may interpret differently.
For CANEN enquiries, this list describes possible sourcing requirements; it does not establish availability of every accessory or a pre-approved combination.
Resolve interfaces before combining quotations
Ask who verifies that the chosen components work together. Record connector details, included leads, mounting arrangements and the applicable instructions.
If a component changes during sourcing, request an updated list. A replacement that looks similar in a photograph may still require a compatibility review. Keep the approved configuration tied to its document revision.
Make shipping scope visible
Ask for packing quantities, gross weights and dimensions for each component group. Specify whether components should be packed together or separately and whether cartons need matching kit identifiers.
When a shipment includes batteries, request the documents relevant to the actual configuration and shipping arrangement. Do not budget on a blanket “non-dangerous goods” assumption. This article gives a procurement process, not a transport classification.
Compare complete offers
Review quotations in three passes:
- Check that every required item is included, excluded or assigned to another party.
- Compare the documented configuration and service scope.
- Compare prices on the same quantity and delivery basis.
Ask suppliers to separate optional items from the base package. If one offer includes spare parts and another does not, adjust the comparison before choosing a source.
A practical RFQ attachment
Create columns for item code, description, specification reference, quantity, unit, supplier, status and notes. Add a cover sheet with the destination, buyer contact, requested delivery basis and target schedule. Label estimates and unresolved decisions clearly.
Send CANEN your component list and project requirements. Start from the current energizer offering, then identify the additional sourcing scope you want reviewed. If the form cannot accept your attachment, request an appropriate channel rather than assuming file upload is supported.
Does one supplier have to manufacture every component?
The RFQ should identify who supplies and takes responsibility for each part. Evaluate the stated scope rather than assuming a single manufacturing origin.
Can I compare a complete kit with an energizer-only quote?
Only after separating inclusions and adding the missing scope. The headline unit prices answer different questions.
What should be fixed before consolidation?
Confirm quantities, the approved component list, packing identification, documents and each party’s responsibilities.
